Cadet Treats A Success –A huge thank you to Leslie & Stacy!!

From Stacy & Leslie: What a terrific success our special delivery was!  Carol went way above and beyond to make sure the Cadets from our area received our special treat and a hug.  A few Cadets had not picked up their treat by 6:30 p.m. last night, so she called each of them and made arrangements for them to pick their treat up at the Cadet Desk in Arnold Hall today.  Pictures will be posted on the website/album shortly.

If anyone wants to mark a birthday, special occasion or just to send treat to a favorite Cadet, please consider Creative Cakes of Colorado Springs.  She loves our Cadets and the Academy and will make your delivery special, indeed!

News Release #021
Feb. 14, 2012
SUPERINTENDENT'S STATEMENT ON FORMING NEW IC ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - On Monday, Feb. 13, Lt Gen. Mike Gould, Superintendent of the United States Air Force Academy, released the following statement:
"The presidents of the Mountain West Conference schools and Conference USA schools met yesterday (Sunday, February 12th) in Dallas.
"It was a productive meeting in that all the presidents signed a non-binding letter of agreement to discuss future conference membership plans, and agreed to work on forming a new intercollegiate athletic association that would begin competition in the 2013-14 academic year.

"This is a great opportunity to form a conference that stands for three primary and important things: 1) improving the student-athlete academic experience, 2) demanding fiscal responsibility in college athletics, and 3) ensuring competitive fairness among universities.
"The presidents formed five subcommittees that will look hard in how to implement these initiatives that will make this conference special. That work will take about six months."

Here's a link to a great story about a prior enlisted person who is currently excelling at the Prep School. The article and the subject of it demonstrate the value of the Academy and the dedicated people who work so hard to be able to attend USAFA.
